When I log in to Lex, I am taken to a page entitled 'Forbidden', Is there a reason for this?

All I have to do is hit the 'Back Page arrow' top left corner and I am into Lex. Strange!

Ahh! The secret forbidden realms of Lex!

I'm as mystified as you are, SG. I take it this is happening on the forum, rather than on Chihuahua? Has it been happening for a while, or just the once? Do you stay signed in to the forum between visits, or do you enter your user name and password each time?

Hi Alan,

It has been happening for a couple of weeks or maybe more. I stay logged in until I log out (axiomatic!) and then when I log in again I go to the 'Forbidden' page. I did not log out last night and was still ok this morning. I will log out now and see what happens.

I just relogged-in..and I went straight to Forbidden error not-found 404. And yes Alan, it is only a problem with Lex.

Sorry, SG, but I don't know what the reason is. The forum runs on off-the-shelf software, and I know very little about how it works. Hopefully the problem will go away of its own accord eventually. In the meantime, it sounds as though you can still use the forum with the aid of the Back button.

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

No problem Alan. It is good to know it is not my pressing a wrong button which is the cause. In fact it has not happened with my latest logging in to Lex. Smiley

This happened to me once or twice,  quite a while ago.

I don't remember that I did anything in particular.  The problem went away by itself.

With most electrical things - give them a thump and with computers just ignore the problem and it goes away. I can't figure out why !

SG, one way of avoiding this phenomenon might be simply to stay logged in. This is what I do, and I imagine a lot of other forumites as well. If you're using your own computer, you're probably not running any serious risks. In fact, even if you're using shared computers, what is the worst that could happen - a stranger might go to the forum site and post inflammatory comments that appear to come from you? It doesn't seem very likely.
